People of British origion have always been fighters and have stood by each other. would that stil apply today?

when britain went to war against Germany,the Commonwealth countries, en m did likewise. (apart from SA) My father volunteered immediately and my uncle lied about age.Would the English- dominant countries (ie Aus. NZ. Canada) or people(ie English speaking South Africans, Zimbabwe) still do so?
