What can be put into a compost pile?

anything that hasn't taken a breath- no animal left overs. gr clippings veg fruit and peels are ok .No plastic or styrofoam , News paper is ok and make sure is gets some air flow and you turn it once a week. I had to put a wire top on mine because the raccoons in my area thought it was the local fast food place to visit daily and ate everything LOL
