Why Altanta over Dallas for wildcard slot?

How does Atlanta have the wildcard clinched over Dallas with one game left to play? The two teams did not go head-to-head this year. If ATL loses and DAL wins on 12-28, both teams will be 10-6 overall, but Dallas would have the best conference record at 8-4 vs Atlanta's 7-5. What am I missing?
